We Support You Blog Hop Sneak Peek #9

Here is another little peek at the project I am working on for the We Support You Blog Hop. This "F" was stitched using a single strand of green Anchor size 8 perle cotton and a linked chain stitch.

Unlike the other peeks I have given, this letter is not dressed up, so I am adding another tiny peek.

This butterfly was created with a strand of DMC #316 size 12 perle cotton floss.  The wings were created with two lazy daisy stitches (bottom wings), and I forget what you call the top wings.  They are kind of a combination of the buttonhole stitch and the lazy daisy (also called a detached chain) stitch. The body is a bullion knot. And two straight stitches with French knots created the antennae.  For this project, I wanted to be sure the butterfly would not snag on anything, so I added several tiny stitches to tack it down.

This is the 9th sneak peek of my project for the We Support You Blog Hop which is only 13 days away!  The hop is hosted by Madame Samm at Sew We Quilt.  Our wonderful cheerleader is Pat from Life in the Scrapatch. Pat shared a sneak peek of her project and a helper of hers yesterday. You may click HERE to go directly to that post.

Now, I am off to visit the blogs presenting on Day 6 of the Tammy 4 all Seasons Blog Hop over at Sew We Quilt.  Then, I am back to work on my project.  There is still much to be done!

Oh, and do not forget, the deadline to sign up for the 3rd Annual Grow Your Blog Party at 2 Bags Full is tomorrow, January 17th.

Thanks for stopping by!

Love your butterfly. The couching adds a dainty touch.

Must admit that I'm anxious to see what all this peeking is going to be when the big reveal comes!

Love the butterfly! I'll have to try it out!

The butterfly is smartly made up of various stitches. Good idea to anchor the wings with some extra couching stitches.

I love the butterfly. Is the bullion knot difficult to do? It seems so useful.

Bullion knots took me some practice. Of course, I had been struggling with them for at least three months before I learned I was using the wrong needle. Here is a link to Sharon Boggon's tips for this stitch (there is a link to directions for the stitch just above the heading for the tips). They are much easier with the right needle and with practice! http://pintangle.com/2012/05/15/take-a-stitch-tuesday-week-20/
