Twilight Duel Update #30

2,172 stitches were added to Twilight Duel this month.

This is how it looked on January 1, 2019.
57,412 of 147,600 stitches were complete.

This is how it looks today.
59,584 of 147,600 stitches are complete.

This year, I am participating in a couple of events through the Stitchtalk HAED Challenges Facebook Group to push me to make more progress in 2019.

My Heaven and Earth Designs (HAED) Twilight Duel cross-stitch project is my focus piece for the Stitch Around the World 2019 Challenge (SATW 2019.) A chart was created for participants with 22 legs of a journey, beginning and ending in London.
Assuming every chart symbol stitched = 1 kilometer, 53,855 stitches will take us around the world in a year.
To be honest, I do not think I can commit the time necessary to fully finish this challenge. However, I will be thrilled to make it half-way around the world.

SK Effects of Caffeine - SAL Update 1

I began working on my Heaven and Earth Designs (HAED) Storykeep Effects of Caffeine in October of 2015 because I love Randal Spangler's work and I needed a new travel project. (You may see the art this chart is based on here.)

Now that I am working full-time, my goal is to spend at least a few minutes on this piece during my lunch breaks. In December I asked Avis, at Sewing Beside the Sea, if I could join her SAL (stitch along.) Members of this SAL share progress on one project every 3 weeks, which seems like a perfect routine for sharing updates on this cross-stitch project. And I love the work I have seen through the other blogs I follow that are participating with this SAL.

The photo above shows how it looked on January 1st. I hope to have more visible progress on our next SAL update, on February 3rd.

January 1 - 12: Stitched 7 days for a total of 3.85 hours. 452 stitches added.

4,842 of 23,660 stitches are complete.
The project is 20.46% complete. (It was 18.55%.)
Page 1 (of 4) is 76.01% complete. (It was 68.92%.)

I do hope you will join me in visiting the other SAL participants to see what they are working on and to cheer them on. Links are below. I would love to thank everyone in the SAL for the warm welcome.

Avis, Claire, Gun, Carole, LucyAnn, Kate, Jess, Sue, Constanze, Debbierose, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Helen, Steph, Linda, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Hayley, Megan, Catherine, Deborah, Connie, Clare, Mary MargaretJenny

January 2019

Happy New Year!

I hope 2019 brings you good health and happiness!

Do you have any New Years Resolutions?

This year, I am simply focusing on a few goals:
1. Eat more vegetables.
2. Drink more water.
3. Get back into a running routine.
4. Make progress on my cross-stitch projects.
5. Finish up some unfinished projects.

Each activity/challenge I have chosen to participate with this year will help me finish projects.

Challenges/Blogs/Events

Stitches will be added to crazy quilt blocks I need to complete.

I will be completing blocks from previous CQJP years.

My aim is to make progress and/or complete
Christmas themed UFOs.

I began my Charting Creations Fractal White Tiger Cross-Stitch (art by Ricky Barnard) for the Stitchy Start blog in 2016.
My goal is to add at least 900 stitches to it each month.
The 3rd full weekend of each month, I will be working on my Charting Creations Fractal White Tiger cross-stitch project.

Make progress and/or finish a UFO each month.

Stitch Around the World:
organized by Porsche.
The goal is to add 53,855 stitches to a single
Heaven and Earth Designs (HAED) Cross-Stitch project.
I will be working on Twilight Duel (artwork by Ruth Thompson.)
1 km = 1 symbol on the chart
To complete this challenge, my monthly goal is 4,488 stitches.
IF I succeed, the chart will be 75% complete at the end of 2019.

100 Days of HAED:
organized by Porsche.
This challenge runs January 7 to April 16, 2019
Round 2 runs from August 1 - November 9, 2019
Goal: Add 5+ stitches a day to any HAED Cross-Stitch project.
I will be focusing on Twilight Duel & SK Effects of Caffeine.

I am joining Avis at Sewing Beside the Sea for this SAL.
Beginning January 13th, every 3 weeks
I will post an update on my HAED Storykeep Effects of Caffeine (artwork by Randal Spangler.)

It looks like a HUGE list, but focuses on these 3 cross-stitch projects, several UFOs, and a few other CQJP blocks not pictured.
There should be visible progress by December 31st!

Thank you so much for visiting!
