Glasses Case for Kim

Crazy Quilted Glasses Case - Front
Last year my blogging friend, Kim, at Wisdom with Needle and Thread celebrated her 60th birthday by performing 60 random acts of kindness. (You may see them all here.)

I received a wonderful package from Kim last May. (You may see it here.) It arrived only a few months after I won an amazing tote bag full of goodies from her in March. (You may see that here.)

Crazy Quilted Glasses Case - Back
As a belated birthday gift, I mailed Kim a Halloween zipper pouch with a few goodies inside (as seen here) and this glasses case.

Kim was very sweet and agreed not to share photos of the glasses case before it was featured in the Crazy Quilt Quarterly Spring 2017 Magazine, which is now available.

I am not associated with the magazine. You may find it here on MagCloud if you are interested. Sharon B. did a review of it that you may find here. I love the cover piece by Allison Aller!

Now, I have a question for you all. A friend recently asked me this question and I did not have an answer. Perhaps you do. If you had 7-10 days to spend anywhere within the United States or Canada, where would you go? And why would that be your choice?

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Renee

The glasses case is beautiful Renee! I loved reading your interview with Sharon too! I can't answer the question.... it would require a lot of thought... so many places I would love to visit! Christine x

Wow. Beautiful!! What a sweet gift.

Oh so many places. If money isn't an option (wish it wasn't haha) Monterey Bay, California. I love all the amazing ocean life you can see everyday. A more affordable vacation is OBX, North Carolina. Kill Devil Hills is my favorite part of the area. I don't know why I just really LOVE that whole area. Nice people and beautiful ocean.

I love your CQ, as always! The bird/butterfly/egg theme is wonderfully done and the stitching is beautiful. I'm glad you could share it now!

Where to go is an easy choice for me. I would take a tour of Arizona. It's a state with everything from deserts to mountain forests, cities to small villages. There's the Grand Canyon and the Painted Desert to the north, ski resorts for the winter, mountain camping in the summer. If you're really lucky, you will observe some of the most amazing wildlife in both the deserts and the forests.

You can white-water raft the Colorado River on the western boundary, play in sand dunes near Yuma, and explore amazing caves in the south. Near Tucson, you can find more varieties of hummingbird than collect anywhere else in the country. There are beautiful desert wildflowers in the spring and colorful fall leaves in the mountains in the autumn.

There are art museums, a world class symphony, and any kind of shopping imaginable. You can attend ballets, live theater, jazz clubs, and golf year round. If you like Navajo rugs, Hopi pots, or Zuni jewelry, it's available in abundance. You can even visit the mountains in the southern part of the state and see where Cochise and his Apache band holed up for a long time, eluding authorities who were trying to catch him.

State Fair is in Phoenix around late fall each year, and it is definitely an all day and half the night experience. There's free big-name entertainment, and free small-name performances, too. You can see the biggest pumpkin you ever laid eyes on, and the chickens with the feathers on their legs, the cows who produce the most milk and the cutest little pigs ever. If something can be sold in a 10 ft. booth, it's there! My favorite? The demolition derby nights. LOL You packed yet?

What a gorgeous glasses case! Congratulations on being featured in the magazine.
I have never visited the US but would like to see New England in the fall.

Beautiful work!! I would go out west to see my brother and SIL in Fort McMurray and take DH and DD to see the Rocky Mountains and a glacier before they're all gone.

Kim is so wonderfully generous and I know she was so happy with the gifts you made her. As for where I'd go if I could - hands down it would be British Columbia, but that's because our family is there and I want to see our grandson. Barring that, I would want to go to the Kentucky area to see the horse farms. Not that I'm particularly a horse person, but the pictures I've seen make it look so beautiful.

So lovely, this glasses case for Kim.
That's an easy question for me - I'd go to the Rocky Mountains and maybe travel from Colorado north until Alberta. So many mountains and National Parks and so much to see.
