Twilight Duel: SAL Update 9

 

I am thrilled to have surpassed the halfway point on the Heaven and Earth Designs Twilight Duel cross-stitch project I am stitching for my son.

73,878 of 147,600 stitches are complete! The photo above shows how it looks now. And the photo below is how it looked on our last update.

Our next SAL (stitch along) update will be September 13th. The bloggers in this SAL all select their own project to work on and we share updates every 3 weeks.

Twilight Dual: SAL Update 8

Winter/Christmas Crazy Quilt July 2020 Update

One of my goals for the year is to finally finish this crazy quilted wall quilt. Way, way back in 2014, I completed a round robin with 5 very talented crazy quilters through the Crazy Quilt International Group.

After embellishing the final block, I pieced all six blocks together to create a small wall quilt. Then I came up with the brilliant idea of quilting the borders with hand embroidered and beaded snowflakes. 

I love the look, but began to dread stitching the snowflakes after a while. As a result, this has been sitting in a bag for years. I made a tiny bit of progress in February, and set it aside again. 

This month, I worked on it a few days during my lunch break at work and actually made some visible progress. In August, I hope to be much closer to a finish! 

To push me along, this is my current project for the 1 Xmas Item a Month Blog and it is #9 on my 2020 UFO list.

Twilight Duel - SAL Update 7

Less than 300 stitches were added to Twilight Duel these past 3 weeks. I had just under 3 hours to spend stitching since our last update. At least I can still see a bit of progress filling in page 9 and extending up into page 10. (The black dragon's abdomen is beginning to show.)

This is how it looked in my last update. I will share a photo of the full piece in our next SAL update on August 2nd. There should be a lot more progress. (I hope!)

72,962 of 147,600 stitches are complete, so it is 49.43% done. (It was 49.23%.)

Page 9 is 70.28% complete. (It was 67.7%.)

Page 10 is 4.47% complete. (It was 2.08%.)
