Twilight Duel: SAL Update #26

I have no progress to share on Twilight Duel for this update.

One of my boys has left the nest, so to speak, and I have been busy transitioning his bedroom into a guestroom/craft area. It is still a work in progress, but here are a few before and after pictures.

Knowing I have never had a "girly" room, my husband vetoed my suggestion to paint the room blue, and selected the lilac color I was also considering.

(The shadows in the room make the paint appear darker than it actually is in the photo above. The picture below is more accurate.)

We added a daybed that has a second mattress underneath to provide additional sleeping accommodations for guests.

This room is much brighter than the room I have been stitching in, so I am excited to get to work on Twilight Duel.

I do hope you will stop by to see what the other talented bloggers in our stitch along have been up to! We are in different time zones, so if a post is not up, please check back later.

Thanks for stopping by!
Renee

That's a perfect colour to help relax and stitch. No stitching this time but preparation for lots of crafting :-)

how nice to have gained a room, even if it meant seeing your son move out ^^

Kathy, I hope to be that productive! :)

Christina, thank you! I am eager to have everything in its place soon. :)

Claire, thank you! My son knows he is welcome to stay in his room anytime and seems to like the changes so far. Having a bed for him if he ever wants to sleepover was my #1 priority. :)

I started changing my daughter's room a couple of years ago. I changed the bed for a daybed like yours....it may be the same one. I wanted to put the desk in the basement to make room for my sewing machine cabinet, but I have been using it during the pandemic. Maybe someday, I will be able to complete the transformation. I really like the paint color you chose.

How considerate of your son to move out so you can have stitching space! Having said that, I'm sure it was hard to see him go.

Renee what a fabulous job you have done with the decoration of your new guest room and what a wonderful place it will be to sit and stitch. I hope you'll post more photos when all those 'finishing touches' have been added! Hugs Christine xx

It's always hard to have 'them' fly the coop but oh the wonder of a craft room. Love the color!

Ahh the bittersweet “empty nest” syndrome. Yay for you to have your very own room for Creative Bliss. The color selected is beautiful. Enjoy your new space and let it be your sanctuary from everyday chaos and life’s ups and downs. Summer Sunshine Smiles...
