A New Cross Stitch
As much as I planned to finish Santa and the Mouse and one other cross-stitch before beginning something new, I really needed a break from the large "confetti" sections in the ongoing projects. So, I pulled out the QS Red Hearts (QS = quick stitch) chart I purchased from Heaven and Earth Designs. The artwork is by Ching-Chou Kuik. I love pink and brown and hearts and vines, so I just love this chart!
In November of last year, I put about 3 hours into this chart. However, with 2 over 1, I feared it was going to get bulky and difficult to stitch. So, I tore out all of the stitching (which also took nearly 3 hours, as it was all so tightly packed in) and began fresh with 1 over 1 on 28-count Monaco Evenweave. Here is a link to what it will look like.
This is roughly 6 hours and 15 minutes of stitching. I cannot wait to see this one grow. I will share another update on the first Monday in July.
I am linking up with Monday Stitchery Link Party #9 at Super Mom - No Cape. (If you hand stitch anything, I encourage you to join the party!)
Thanks for stopping by!

Great new start, look forward to seeing this piece grow.
Hello Renee! What a cute little cross stitch! You have made great progress already! :) x
Hi, Renee - I love your stitching - the completed design is so cute! I know what you mean about needing a break - I'm working on 48 Ct silk gauze and had to take a break - switched to 28Ct and it seems to be going so fast!!

This is looking pretty, good start
Oh she is beautiful! Don't worry about taking a break. That's why I have a thousand WIPs haha. I like to switch it up a lot and work on different things. I look forward to watching her grow.
Oh. My goodness. I don't know if I'd have the patience (and I rarely say that!). I remember making a beautiful counted cross stitch gift for my aunt before I knew of the differences of the numbers in aida linen. It took forever. Came out nice, but it was all I did for a couple months.
The finished cross stitch looks good but it would take me more than 6 hours to complete it. Your dedication is to be admired.
Hmmmm - this can be classified as not a 'new start', right? Sorry - couldn't resist that, after we were talking about not starting anything new. hee hee....
I don't blame you for starting this - it's just lovely. Great start.
I clicked through and had a peek at your new project will look like. It's going to be so pretty! It says it's a quick stitch but my goodness, it looks like it will take hours and hours.
Thanks for linking up to last week's Stitchery Link Party and for linking back. Aloha hugs!
