Twilight Duel - SAL Update 4

Wow! 3 weeks went by quickly! I am afraid I still have no progress to share on the Heaven and Earth Designs Twilight Duel chart I am stitching for my youngest son.

To be honest, I am down to 3 needles and I forgot just how fast I go through them on this piece. 2 strands of floss over 25-count fabric makes it pretty tight to get through sometimes and the eyes of the needles tend to snap. I am happy to say the needles I wanted to order are finally in stock again, so I plan to resume this piece soon.

Over the past 3 weeks, I did manage to put 839 stitches into the Charting Creations Fractal White Tiger chart I am stitching for my oldest son. Although I am working this one with 2 strands over 28-count fabric, I am using the continental tent-stitch and it is soooo much easier to get a needle through. But I do love the coverage the full cross-stitch gives to Twilight Duel.

On our May 31st update, I will definitely have progress to share on Twilight Duel.

Confession... My boys remembered how much I enjoyed playing Animal Crossing with them on their GameCube when they were younger. So, my eldest bought the game for his Nintendo Switch and said it was just for me. So, for the past 2 weeks, I confess my little bit of "me time" after work has been playing or watching my boys play instead of stitching.

It is Mother's Day here today. I do hope all of you moms have an amazing day! (Even if it is Covid-19 style...)

Happy Stitching and Healthy Wishes!
Renee

Please do stop by to see the progress everyone else has made. I am happy to announce Helen has rejoined us. Welcome back, Helen! I look forward to seeing more of your Garden Alphabet.

We're all allowed me time now and again :-) That's a lot of stitches you've done on the tiger. Claire got me started using John James Petites needles and I wouldn't cross stitch with anything else now.

I've had to wait for hand quilting thread that took longer than I expected to arrive so I feel you pain over the needles. Nevertheless, you made good progress on the tiger! And time spent with the boys is never wasted. Happy Mother's Day!

I hope your needles arrive quickly. Enjoy your time with your boys. I haven't seen either of my adult children since February except via video chat. Happy Mother's Day.

Ben though you have been short on needles, you have still done MANY stitches, and I'm sure your eldest son is pretty excited by your progress! Happy Mothers Day Renee!

These are extraordinary times and everything changes. Then it is nice to switch to another activity, like gaming, for a while. Those two projects will get their attention in time.
Stay safe.

Hi Renee, that tiger piece is amazing! I like that you are spending time with family too.
I tend to create a bend in my needles...can only think I must have a strong grip on them. But we do need the right tools.

Good luck on getting those new needles ! I think the tiger looks fine with continental stitch but out of habit I've only ever done full crosses unless the chart demanded otherwise - It's a nice change though !

I've never managed to actually break a needle but I bend them - a lot. Not sure why that happens. I think spending time playing a game is probably a good thing these days....enjoy your game time with your family!
