Wow! I have been posting pictures of my Santa and the Mouse progress for so long, I had to stop and think about my next WIP to share.
Over the past few weeks, I have been adding Take a Stitch Tuesday (TAST) stitches to these two Christmas stockings. My goal is to complete them both before Christmas, so they make great WIP Wednesday projects.
Over ten years ago, I cross-stitched the Santa in the first stocking following a pattern by Alma Lynne. I believe it was in the book Alma Lynne's Country Cross-Stitch. (Note: The link will take you to the book at Amazaon.com. I am not associated with the book, but do receive a small credit from Amazon for purchases made from visitors from my blog.) At the time, I attempted to make it into a wall quilt for my husband, but my sewing skills were not up to the challenge. I set it aside to deal with in the future. My seam ripper and I had a date earlier this year, and I worked the piece into this stocking instead.
The second stocking was pieced featuring snowmen from the Daisy Kingdom Christmas is for Families #5223 fabric I purchased years ago. When it is complete, I will probably use a coordinating Daisy Kingdom Christmas is for Families #5239 fabric for the lining.
I did begin working on the Heaven and Earth Designs (HAED) Twilight Duel cross-stitch chart based on artwork by Ruth Thompson. (You may see a picture on the sidebar to the right.) However, that project is going to take me ages to finish. I will probably give a monthly update in a Monday Stitchery Link Party post so I can share noticeable progress.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Renee

Yay! You finished Santa. It looks great!
Great idea to make the cross stitch Santa into a stocking!
Christmas stockings are always fun to make - these are both going to be cute (but I must admit the first one caught my eye because of the Santa).
These are lovely projects Renee! Christmas stockings are always fun to make! Christine x
Your work is beautiful and I can see you finishing both stockings in time for Christmas. Creative Stitching Bliss...
Good idea to have the stockings be your work in progress. The first Santa on blue fabric was stunning, but it looks great on the green too. You always have great work and progress to share with us. Thanks for blogging!
xx, Carol
I do love your Santas. Great work!
Ha, shorter list! This may help. ;) Love the stockings. You will make them in time for Christmas use this year!
The two stockings are a wonderful idea. I love the Alma Lynne Santa that will figure on one of them. I'm so curious to see more of the stockings.
Yea! Happy Dance! It's done-and gorgeous. All your Santas are sweet.

Those Christmas stockings are going to be gorgeous! I love both the Santa in the blue one and the Snowmen blocks in the other one.
I love your Santa! What a great way to finish your cross stitch pieces.
