Look what I found on my front porch on Wednesday! These beautiful blocks were pieced by Sandy Black.
(We had a package delivered that would not fit in our mailbox and all of our other mail was left on top of it on our porch - even though our doormat had blown off of the porch and we were expecting 50 mph winds - so I was very glad to find these beauties and our other mail had not blown away!)
Sandy's blocks went to Mary Beard first. She created such a lovely seascape. I just love the clusters Mary creates. The coral has an amazingly soft texture and the trims and laces are perfect. (You may see some of Mary's gorgeous creations at her blog, Crazy Quilting in Texas with Mary K. Beard.)
Next, the blocks went to Annette Graves. She added one of her gorgeous mermaids to Sandy's block. I love the jelly she added and the clusters, laces and trims are all fabulous! (You may see some of Annette's amazing art and crazy quilting at her blog, Annette's World. She also sells gorgeous silkies through her Etsy shop, The Art of Annette (I am not affiliated with her shop.))
Annette sent Sandy's blocks on to Kathy Semone. I just love the cluster of sequins and beads, as well as the fun feather-stitched area with the sea stars. So much fun!
Barbara Nicki Lee Seavey received the blocks next. She added some of her hand dyed lace and some darling trims and charms to the block. The eye on the yellow fish moves, too. (You may see more of her beautiful work at her blog, Raviolee Dreams, and find her gorgeous laces in her Etsy shop. (I am not affiliated with the shop.))
Now, for me to decide which of these beauties to embellish. I know which one I am leaning towards. We'll see if I change my mind. I have not touched a needle and thread since last Sunday, so I am hoping to get in some quality stitching time this weekend.
Crazy Quilting International (CQI) is a group that meets on Facebookand on Yahoo! You may see some of the work members have done at the CQI blog.
Yesterday, I found more treasure in the mail. I will share that with you tomorrow. I see a new start in the future, so I need to hurry up and finish a few projects first.
Oh - Barbara Nicki Lee also finished up on my block for this round robin (I've seen pictures and am SO excited.) My blocks are on their way home. I should be able to share them with you next week!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi Renee! What lovely mail!! The ladies in this group are all so super talented! Just love all the blocks embellished so far and I know you will do a fabulous job of whichever one you pick too! Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend! Christine x
The blocks are beautiful. I guessed which block you would use...I'll wait to see if I am right. All of these blocks are so pretty. You haven't stitched in almost a WEEK!! Man you must be BUSY.
Happy Sunday
xx, Carol
Our mail person did the same thing with our mail. We called and complained about it countless times. So frustrating. I'm so glad everything was found safe. The blocks are just breathtaking. I just am so amazed at the talent. I need a pattern to follow. You ladies are so creative!!
Such gorgeous blocks, Renee. I love the mermaid and seahorse.

I look forward to seeing your blocks come home! These are all lovely blocks. I would have to think two or three times to pick between those two blocks. I'll be interested to see which one you've picked!
Such beautiful creative blocks. Looking forward to see your finished piece, Renee.
So gorgeous, all these under-the-sea blocks. A great theme where your creativity can run wild. I'm looking forward to seeing what you will create.
Amazing work! I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Each of the finished blocks is pretty incredible. So many details to admire in each one. So glad they didn't blow away!
