Renee's CQI Winter/Christmas Block Completed 05/13/2014 |
This week, I finished embellishing the "Dream" block from the
Crazy Quilting International Winter/Christmas Do Your Block Round Robin I participated in last year!
I added a few blue flowers at the top, a button snowman, and my first
attempt at a button cluster (which looks more like a button spray to
me, but I tried!)

Now, I just need to assemble all 6 blocks into a wall hanging and this work in progress project will be complete!
To see what WIPW projects Sharon and others have been completing, check out
this week's WIPW post at Pin Tangle - do not forget to check out the links in the comments. You will see some amazing work! (

Last Week's Goals:
My block to embellish from the CQI Winter/Christmas DYB Round Robin Done - seen above
- The wall hanging I plan to create with all of my CQI Winter/Christmas blocks
- My CQJP 2013 May block - better late than never?! (It is referred to as Block 4 if you follow this link.)
- A crazy quilted hexagon to participate in my first swap with the World Wide Crazy Quilters Yahoo! Group
- A change purse for myself
- Complete my April CQJP 2014 block.
- Have a count of at
least 50,000 words for my CampNaNoWriMo novel.
- Make a purse with my April CQJP 2014 block.
- Embellish my May CQJP 2014 block.
- Make a purse with my May CQJP 2014 block.
- Complete a gift by the end of May.
- Embellish one of Lisa's CQI Hearts DYB RR blocks. (They really are GORGEOUS!)
- Freebie Santa and the Mouse Ornament - Heaven and Earth Designs chart by Michele Sayetta and artwork by Scott Gustafson. (I believe the ornament is a portion of the chart "Santa and the Mouse.") Complete 700 x-stitches. I met about half of this goal. I forgot how hard cross-stitching can be on my wrists, so I need to slow it down. My progress to date is below.

Love the button snowman, that's really innovative!=)
Thank you!
Thanks for your comments and I love what you are doing. I am pleased to see your to do list is nearly as long as mine!
Nice work! It turned out so wintery - very creative!
I am glad MY list is not a long as yours!
The winter block is looking great. Did you draw the marks on the snowman buttons?
Your Winter Christmas block is great! I used to live in Oregon, lucky you!
Do you want to trade lists? I just added an item to next month, so I need to get to work!
I painted the face and buttons onto the top two snowman buttons with acrylic paint.
Thank you! It was a lot of fun to put together.
Thank you! I do love living here. :)
Congrats on finishing this block, love the button snowman!
The whole block is lovely. The use of the Looped Cretan for the angels is ingenious.
