Crazy Quilting Opportunities and Inspiration

Hello!

I thought I would share a few things going on in the world of crazy quilting with you all.

First, I want to congratulate Nina Burnsides! I am a huge fan of her work and was delighted to see that she was featured on the cover of the Autumn 2017 Crazy Quilt Quarterly

Submissions for the Spring 2018 edition are now being accepted. Learn more here.

Pamela Kellogg has also released the 2018 Crazy Quilt Calendar. Sadly, there were not enough entries for the musical themed contest. The blocks that were submitted will be featured in the Winter 2017 Crazy Quilt Quarterly. The 2018 calendar features Pamela Kellogg's gorgeous work.

Artist's Trading Cards Crazy Quilt Style Swap

The staff of the Crazy Quilt Quarterly have organized an Artist's Trading Card (ATC) Swap. There are specific guidelines to follow, but they are all clearly stated. The staff of the CQ Quarterly are hoping to have at least 300 ATCs swapped. Photos of each ATC will be shared in a special edition of the magazine and 6 of the ATCs will be featured on the front cover. It sounds like great fun. Please read all of the details here

2020 Challenge

If you missed it, Sharon at Pintangle.com is hosting a 2020 Challenge. The idea is to create a crazy quilt by the year 2020 that features 2,020 different items. You may find more details about the challenge here

Sharon is also sharing free patterns for each of the hexagon blocks she creates for the challenge. I love her work! You may see her blocks here.

A Fabric Book Group

One question that has frequently come up in the Crazy Quilting groups I belong to is: How do I make a fabric book?

Sharon of Pintangle.com has set up a Facebook Group specifically for those interested in learning how to create fabric books. You may find more details and a link to the Facebook group here

Are you participating with the 2020 Challenge? The Fabric Book Group? Or the ATC Swap? If so, please let me know!

I am sending prayers and positive thoughts to everyone in areas facing flooding, hurricanes and fires right now. Safe wishes.

-Renee

With so many creative options I cannot understand anyone ever being bored. Thank you for sharing all of these opportunities. I am going to try to and create a CQ ATC for swapping. I must unpack my sewing machine and supplies however I want to challenge myself to do some CQ. I always love what you do. September Satisfaction Dear...<3

I didn't know about the last one. I planned to do the 2020, but I might not because I'm going to be spending a lot of time on school - at least a half-time job's worth, and I also have a part-time job, so how much energy I will have left for CQ, I don't know. Maybe I can do 202 in 2020. LOL

Thank you for the lovely 'plugs' for the magazine and the ATC swap! The swap sounds like such fun and I do hope we get lots of players so it will be even more fun for everyone.
