UFO Challenge 2017 - My List

So... When I learned about the UFO Challenge 2017 at allpeoplequilt.com, I knew I had at least 12 UFOs to work on.  I made a list from memory and headed to my sewing area to pull those projects out for a little photo shoot.

Yikes! I discovered a tote with projects dating back to 2005 (and a couple that may date back further!) So, I made a stack of projects I knew I wanted to finish in 2017. Next, I laid the other projects out and asked my husband and my youngest son to pick out a few more. I suppose I will need to participate again in 2018 to finish the projects that did not make this list!

Each month, a random number will be selected and announced. Participants will find that number on their list and work on that project during that month.

#6 was drawn for January.

Here is the "Status Before" photo of each UFO on my list:

1. January CQJP 2013 block (you may read more about it here.)

2. CQI Hearts Round Robin LOVE Wall Quilt (you may read more about it here.)

3. Heart Quilt - the pattern is called "Hearts Askew" and is found in the book Hearts Aplenty by Lynda Milligan & Nancy Smith.

4. Pink OSU Messenger Bag (you may see some of my progress here.)

5. May CQJP 2014 Block (you may read more about it here.)

6. November CQJP 2014 Block (you may read more about it here.)

7. December CQJP 2014 Block (it was shared on Instagram.)

8. CQI Winter/Christmas Round Robin Wall Quilt (you may read more about it here.)

9. Heaven and Earth Designs Santa and the Mouse Cross Stitch - Retired (you may read more about it here.)

10. CQ Stocking for my son.

11. CQI Under the Sea Round Robin Set 1 with Colored Blocks (you may read more about these blocks and the blocks for #12 here.)

12. CQI Under the Sea Round Robin Set 2

If you will be participating in the UFO Challenge 2017, please let me know. I would love to cheer you on!

What are your top goals for 2017?

Thank you for stopping by,
Renee

Well it looks like you will be busy but they all look like fun projects. I really like project number 1.

Oh I wish you lots of luck and I'm excited to see more sea blocks on your list. Can't wait to see them get finished up. I only have three real goals. I'm doing a year long monthly set of patterns. I want to finish them in the month they are for. I will work on my Grandpa's Family Crest one day a week. The last and most important try to live stress free. In my both life and my hobby. If I want to start something I will. If I want to work on something I will.

Hmmm, you have me considering it. I need direction. At least most of your list consists of blocks and not huge projects. You've got a pretty doable goal! Good luck!

This is going to be fun to watch as you progress through your list. I couldn't actually come up with 12 UFO's - because I purged a whole bunch of them a couple of years ago, knowing that the odds were good that I would never get them done. That's one of the side effects of apartment life - no space to store the stuff that's unnecessary.

Although I expect to finish some UFOs, I'm not doing this officially. Each year, I manage a few more. I, too, plan to concentrate on some of the CQJP projects. Otherwise, I am starting some new projects! Applique! I'm excited about both.

I love the blue stocking, so I hope that you get to that one before long. I also like the hearts and the one above that, too. Well, not that I DON'T like any of them, but those are my favorites.

Impressive list of UFOs and you say more are not listed. :-0
I wish I could send you 'spare time' to complete them this year. Good luck
