Work in Progress Wednesday 08/26/2015

Another Work in Progress (WIP) Wednesday has arrived already. This week I completed over 600 stitches on Santa and the Mouse. (The photo above shows how it looked last week.) There are only 546 stitches remaining and I wish I had time to just sit with this project to finish it up right now.

It is so close to completion! The question is, when I finish, do I wait and share pictures with next Wednesday's WIP post? Or, should I just share it in a separate post? What do you think? (Either way, I imagine I will be grinning from ear to ear, doing a happy dance and telling anyone in my household that will listen, "It's done! It's done! Look, it's done!")

Changing the subject... Have you heard of Love Rocks? I learned about them when someone in our town found one a few days ago. I think it is a sweet, sweet way to honor two little girls lost in a tragic accident. I read the story about Love Rocks here and read a few stories others shared about them here on the Facebook page.  I may have to make one to share...

Earlier this week, I read that 69 firefighters flew in from New Zealand and Australia to help with the multiple wildfires burning in the Northwest. My prayers of gratitude and for safety are going out to all of the brave souls out there fighting the blazing flames and smoke. My heart and prayers are also with the families of the brave men we lost to these fires this summer. Our weather forecast indicates we may have a touch of rain this weekend. I hope so. (As much as I love a good thunderstorm, I am hoping for rain with no lightning that may ignite more fires.)

As for my week... I get to volunteer with our high school's registration, which is always fun. It is great to see the staff members, parents and students in our community. We are also moving my eldest son to his dorm for his freshman year of college. (Time truly does fly! It seems like just yesterday we were signing him up for preschool.)

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are having an amazing week!
Renee

Thank you, Christine! The story about the love rocks was just too touching not to share. Bringing a smile to someone's day is always sweet. In the case of these rocks, it is incredibly sweet.

I am leaning towards an immediate post, too, when I finish Santa. Waiting to share would be hard! I'm sure everyone is just as excited as I am for me to begin sharing something new - lol! Hugs, Renee

Great progress. I think an immediate post would be in order. You've stitched on this for so long, it deserves its own post.

I will NOT be intimidated, nope, not me. By What? YOUR LIST of things you want to accomplish, of course. You are amazing. And on that finish? Well, post it right away. It deserves it's own special post. It's wonderful.

Thanks for the rocks link. A beautiful and loving tribute.

xx, Carol

It's wonderful that you are that close to completing your Santa and Mouse. It will be cause for a great celebration I know! So sorry you are facing taking your 'little' one away to school - it's hard I know - been there, cried buckets. And thank you so very much for 'Love Rocks' the story is so sad and yet so uplifting.

You're so close! In fact it may be finished already.
I definitely think it should have its own post when finished. If your family are anything like mine, they won't appreciate all your hard work like we do so you need to show us to get some proper cheering!
I will miss seeing your updates on this one.

Oh my, Renee, your Santa is nearly finished. I think my fingers wouldn't stop itching if I were so close to the finish and I'm sure yours don't stop either, lol.

Good luck to your son starting his freshman year at college.

A busy week, and life-changing, to be sure. I hope the move went smoothly. The love rocks story is beautiful, and I haven't heard of it before. Post the XS as soon as it's finished! I want to see it. LOL

The Santa project is coming ever closer to the finish and I'd understand if you whoop and yell when it is done.
It is looking wonderful.

I truly hope the fires can be stopped soon.
